ACGC Practice-Based Competencies:
This document defines and describes the twenty two practice-based competencies (skills, attitudes and knowledge) that an entry-level provider must demonstrate to successfully practice as a genetic counselor.

American Society of Human Genetics
The primary professional membership organization for human genetics specialists worldwide.
American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics
An interdisciplinary professional membership organization that represents the interests of the entire medical genetics team including clinical geneticists, clinical laboratory geneticists, and genetic counselors.
